About the Event
"Caring for myself is not self-indulgence, it is self-preservation, and that is an act of political warfare." - Audre Lorde
Join me in a safe space for people of color to practice restorative yoga and meditation. Through our practice, we will connect with the tools within us to cultivate our personal and collective healing.
We'll begin with a grounding guided meditation and flow into 8-10 slow-moving yoga asana postures. We will explore rest in each posture for a few minutes. Each offering will be centered on decolonizing our minds and bodies and cultivating rest as an act of resistance. As your facilitator, I will provide a range of options throughout the class to support your unique practice. The practice will end at 8:30pm EDT for those who need to transition. I will hold optional space until ~8:45pm EDT for those of us who want to continue to connect. <3
You'll need anything that you find supportive for your practice. This might include your yoga mat, yoga blocks (read more about DIY options), a throw pillow or blanket to support your knees/wrists, a handtowel or strap, and warm layers. Please reach out to me on Instagram with any questions about DIY options for props!
